Beret Applications was founded in 1997 by Christine Frauenhofer in Stony Point, New York. We are now located in Pittsburgh, PA.

We have over 29 years of professional software development experience and 10 years of experience in working with mobile devices, starting with Palm OS handhelds through to the current crop of iOS devices.

In the Palm OS era we developed a number of innovative educational game applications. Among the most popular of these applications were
Herbert’s Math Time and Fraction Math Time, focusing on using gameplay to help children develop basic arithmetic and fraction arithmetic skills, and Words 2 Grow Beret Study Buddy: Vocabulary, which focused on vocabulary development. These applications were used in school districts across the country.

We are now focused on the iOS platform. Our first application,
Chromatic Cosmos, is a challenging and fun game in the tower defense genre, and is currently available in the Apple App Store. We have several other applications in development, including
  • A port of Words 2 Grow to the iPad
  • StoryBuild, a storyboarding and prototyping application for the iPad and iPhone
  • DemonChic, an action RPG game
